Police are investigating a reported break-in at Australia Post in Sandy Bay overnight.
Police said a member of the public alerted them shortly after 5:30am today after discovering damage to a door at the King Street business.
Local MP and butcher Marcus Vermey urged anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious overnight to come forward.
Vermey described the incident as a “smash and grab” in a social media post, saying he had been in the area at 5am.
“Never good to get to work and face this,” he said.

“Please let police know if you saw anything suspicious or heard anything last night.”
Police told Pulse investigations were continuing.
Anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area overnight is asked to contact police and quote ESCAD 35-0810206.
