Tasmania Police have released CCTV footage in an appeal to identify a man they believe can help with an investigation into an armed robbery at a Launceston petrol station.
The security camera footage shows a hooded man inside the George Town Road store at Newnham just before 8pm on Tuesday, August 25.
Police say the man was armed with a hammer when he entered the petrol station, threatened an employee and stole a quantity of cash.
The footage shows him wearing a black puffer jacket, grey shoes, bike gloves and a black face covering.
The employee was not physically injured and the man fled the area on foot a short time later.
Police have described him as being of average build.
Investigators are urging anyone who recognises the man to contact Launceston CIB on 131 444 and quote OR814660.
