Police seek man wearing rubbish bags over alleged Burnie break-in

Tasmania Police are appealing for help to identify a man who allegedly broke into a north-west club wearing rubbish bags as a disguise.

CCTV released by police shows the suspect inside the Burnie Club on Queen Street in Burnie.

He appears to be dressed in plastic bin bags and carrying a torch.

The burglary happened on January 23, with police releasing the footage on Facebook this week.

“Police investigating a burglary … are calling for information and believe the person captured below may be able to assist with their inquiries,” police said.

Police have not released details about what was stolen or how the man got inside.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 and quote reference number OR795849.
