An operation to combat poaching, drug offences and property crime in Tasmania’s Central Highlands has resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man on drug trafficking charges this week.
The search, conducted by 40 police officers and Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tasmania) rangers in London Lakes yesterday, involved executing warrants on four properties in the area.
During the operation, a significant amount of cannabis and stolen property valued at around $50,000 was discovered.
Senior Sergeant John Parker said in a statement that at least five more individuals will also be charged on summons in connection with the case.
The arrested man was granted bail and is set to appear in Hobart Magistrates Court on March 8, 2023.
The investigation is ongoing.
