Beachgoers have been urged to exercise caution following the sighting of a shark off Hope Beach at South Arm this afternoon.
Authorities were alerted to the presence of a shark measuring between 2.5 and 3 metres approximately 200 metres offshore at 2:42pm on Saturday.

The sighting has prompted police to issue a public advisory for all people in the area, particularly surfers and fishermen, to remain vigilant while in or near the water.
