Port Arthur’s 1830 Restaurant to close its doors

Port Arthur Historic Site’s iconic 1830 Restaurant & Bar is set to temporarily close its doors for ‘operational reasons’ later this month.

According to Port Arthur Management, 1830 will close from 30 May to 31 October 2023 while the team ‘reset and improve operations’ in both the restaurant and cafe.

“We are very grateful for those who have dined with us over the years and we eagerly anticipate welcoming you back to an even better dining experience in November,” they said.

“Port Arthur’s infamous spine-chilling Ghost Tours will remain unaffected (on offer Wednesday – Saturday evenings) however the closure of 1830 Restaurant means we are temporarily unable to offer After Dark Packages during this period.”

The on-site cafe will stay open during the restaurant closure, with extended hours Wednesday to Saturday nights for those heading out on a Ghost Tour.
