Drivers have had to keep their eyes peeled this morning after thousands of potatoes ended up on the Midland Highway.
The spuds were spilled at the Perth roundabout with the highway south of Launceston, causing some disruption for motorists.

Images shared to social media show locals collecting the potatoes that have avoided being mashed before their time from the side of the busy road.
It is yet to be confirmed how the spud spill occurred.
