Powderfinger is bringing its reunion tour to Hobart, with two shows at Cornelian Bay Oval next year.
The Brisbane rock band will play on November 13 and 14, 2027, as part of a new nine-show Encore Run.
The run also adds shows in Melbourne, Perth, Canberra and Brisbane, taking the tour to 35 dates.
The band added the new shows after its first 26 sold out in six days. More than 300,000 tickets were sold.
“When we saw how many people missed out on tickets, we knew we couldn’t leave it there,” frontman Bernard Fanning said.

He said the band had been able to include Hobart and Canberra, “which we’re really excited about”.
“We also have some very talented mates joining us,” Fanning said.
John Butler Trio, The Preatures and Luca Brasi will support the Sunday show in Hobart.
Across the Encore Run, the other support acts include Ocean Alley, Violent Soho, The Living End and Something For Kate.
It is the band’s first tour since its Sunsets Farewell tour ended in 2010. Guitarist Ian Haug was born in Hobart.

Tasmanians who already bought tickets to interstate shows can apply for a refund.
Presales open at 10am on November 4. Fans need to sign up at powderfinger.com before 6pm on November 3 to get into the artist presale.
General tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster at 11am on November 5.
“Thank you for keeping the faith and for being so patient,” Fanning said. “We can’t wait to see you out there.”
