More than 500 properties are without power this morning after powerlines fell across the Huon Highway at Port Huon earlier today.
The highway is currently closed while emergency services and contractors work to restore connectivity.

Police say the road is expected to remain closed for several hours while the scene is cleared.
The cause of the outage is believed to have been heavy rain and strong winds that hit Southern Tasmania last night.
Motorists are urged to use caution on wet roads and look out for unexpected debris which may have fallen overnight.
