400 street deals of the highly addictive drug ice have been seized and removed from Tasmania’s streets this week, Police say.
The “significant amount” of methylamphetamine, around 40 grams, was uncovered alongside cocaine, cannabis and close to $66,000 cash during a raid in Ravenswood yesterday.
Police say two Ravenswood locals, allegedly responsible for the drug operation, were arrested following the bust before being bailed to appear in court at a later date.
The pair, a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were charged with trafficking in controlled substance (Major Offence) and dealing in property suspected of being proceeds of crime.
Detective Acting Sergeant Nathan Wheldon said Police “will continue to target anyone involved in the distribution of illicit substances.”
“Drugs seized by police yesterday are highly addictive and had the potential to cause significant harm to nearly 400 people in our community, through individual street deals,” Wheldon warned.
