A reward has been put up for information that can help the New Norfolk Junior Football Club reunite with their beloved mascot, Eddie the Eagle.
The mascot was stolen from the Tynwald Park sportsground last week, along with a TV, iPads and canteen stock – the second significant burglary at the park in recent months.
“[We have been] heavily impacted this time … estimated value of our loss is $5k plus,” the club wrote online.
“Our club has had enough so we are offering a reward to an information that leads to the return of the majority of our items.”
It is understood thieves kicked in seven doors in the changing rooms building and ransacked the cricket club storeroom, along with the umpire’s room.
Police say they are investigating the ‘series of thefts’ and believe someone in the community may know where the stolen property is located.
