People in the Risdon Vale area are being urged to monitor conditions this afternoon as a bushfire burns in the hills behind the suburb.
The Tasmania Fire Service say the blaze is currently burring in the Downhams Road & Meehan Range area.

They say while there is no immediate threat, fire crews have been unable to bring the blaze under control and expect conditions to be changeable into Thursday evening.
TFS what to do:
If you have a bushfire plan, check it now.
Well prepared homes are expected to be defendable in these conditions.
Monitor conditions, and if they get more dangerous, and you are not well prepared, plan to go to a safer place.
