The last of the poker machines at Tasmanian RSL branches are set to be gone by the middle of the year.
The RSL has announced the remaining 20 poker machines at clubs in Devonport will be removed, a move they say will support veterans and their families.
CEO of RSL Tasmania John Hardy said change was never easy, and it had taken great foresight and bravery to make such a decision.
“RSL Tasmania is not about Pots, Parmies and Pokies,” he said.
“I would ask the communities to support their local RSL, and let’s make Tasmania a place where Veterans and their families can thrive.”
