Runners to lace up for a cause as Cadbury Marathon returns to Hobart for 42nd year

The Cadbury Marathon, one of Australia’s longest-running marathons, will return to Hobart’s northern suburbs in January 2025 for its 42nd edition.

The race, which attracts world-class athletes, amateur runners and walkers, will be held on Saturday, January 11.

Athletics Tasmania Executive Officer Blake Steele said the marathon is a race for everyone.

“Cadbury Marathon is delighted to partner again with the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation as we bring people together in the spirit of fitness and community whilst also raising funds for life-saving Tasmanian medical research,” Steele said.

Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Furler said the partnership with the Cadbury Marathon is important.

“Our foundation raises money to provide grants for cutting-edge medical research, which has the ability to significantly improve health outcomes both here and globally,” she said.

“We are grateful to participate in another Cadbury Marathon and have the support of all the incredible runners who are committed to raising money for medical research.”

The marathon will start and finish at the Cadbury Factory in Claremont and include a marathon, half marathon, 10km, 5km and a kids’ dash.
