Authorities in New South Wales and Victoria are on a joint search for a missing man who disappeared after a boat capsized during a bucks weekend celebration on the Murray River in Mildura over the weekend.
The 34-year-old Tasmanian was one of four men on the vessel when it overturned around 2:40am on Sunday.
According to reports, the man failed to resurface after the incident, prompting an immediate search effort.
At this stage, authorities are not making any assumptions about the man’s fate, according to a spokesperson for the NSW Police, however investigators suspect alcohol was involved in the incident.
Officials are calling on the public to come forward with any information they may have that could assist in locating the missing man.
