The latest search for a Belgian tourist who went missing in remote Tasmanian bush has been called off.
Despite the use of a highly-trained NSW Police cadaver dog in the ‘intensive 3-day search’, 31-year-old Celine Cremer was not located.
Police said “new information in relation to Celine’s mobile phone activity” provided an additional area of interest within the Philosopher’s Falls Area, which was scoured over the weekend.
Western District Commander Stuart Wilkinson said crews “faced extremely poor weather conditions” navigating difficult terrain to try and locate her.

“While every effort was made during this latest search, sadly, Celine remains missing,” Wilkinson said.
“When a person remains missing, the case is never closed. We will continue to follow up any new information we receive in relation to Celine’s disappearance so we can provide closure to her family, and our thoughts remain with them and Celine’s loved ones during this difficult time.”
Celine was reported missing on 26 June, and her vehicle, which police believe was in the car park of the Philosopher Falls Track as early as 17 June, was found on 27 June.
