Updated 11:35am, Friday: Police say the motorcyclist has been taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries.
The road has since reopened.

Earlier: A person is believed to be seriously injured after a crash between a car and a motorbike in southern Tasmania this morning.
The collision happened on Charlton Street at Cygnet around 10am.
It is not yet clear whether the injured person was the rider or the driver.
“One person has sustained what are believed to be serious injuries,” police said.
“Motorists are asked to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.”
