Acting head of the state service Noelene Kelly also told state servants in a message to colleagues.

Gregory has held senior roles with Downer, the Department of State Growth, the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Health.

He has worked in Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia, held statutory appointments in Tasmania and sat on national and state intergovernmental, executive and governance committees.

Rockliff said Gregory had experience across the public and private sectors and had led the agency during its establishment.

“Our government is focussed on supercharging delivery across the state and Building Tasmania is leading this charge,” he said.

Vincent said Gregory had “played a key role in implementing Building Tasmania”, which is going through what the minister described as an “organisational transformation”.

Building Tasmania was formerly the Department of State Growth, which was led by Craig Limkin.

In her message to colleagues, Kelly said Gregory had guided “a significant period of change” at Building Tasmania.

“Shane’s experience overseeing significant program reform and his expertise in infrastructure and transport delivery and systems design will be a major asset to Building Tasmania,” Kelly said.
