A Tassie p-plater has had their car clamped after being snapped travelling 62km/h over the speed limit.
The young driver will face court after they were caught going 162km/h in a 100km/h zone on the East Tamar Highway by Police on Friday.
The operation also caught six other motorists travelling over 100km/h, including another p-plater, who was stopped after going 128km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Senior Sergeant Rob King said it was disappointing that motorists were not heeding the advice of police, especially following the road safety messaging over the Christmas/New Year period.
“Speeding increases stopping distances for vehicles and reduces the time a driver has to respond to risks encountered on the road.”
“It also places drivers, their passengers and other road users at a much higher risk of serious injury when a collision occurs.”
