Tasmania Police are searching for a person of interest after a dangerous driving and evade incident that took place in the greater Hobart area earlier today.
The stolen grey BMW SUV was seen driving recklessly in the Montrose area at approximately 11AM before evading police and heading towards the Hobart waterfront.
Reports suggest that the vehicle was being driven by a man who then drove at high speed towards Blackmans Bay.
Police units were able to locate the stolen car in the Kingston area but the driver had already fled the scene.
In an effort to locate the person of interest, multiple police units including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter have been deployed in the search.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of the car to contact them on 131 444.
