A stolen rottweiler has been found “safe and well” after Tasmania Police raided a South Launceston home this week, just days after the dog was taken from a property in the state’s north.

Bear was stolen overnight between April 25 and 26 from Hillwood, near George Town, in the Tamar Valley north of Launceston.

His owner posted on the Tasmanian Lost Pet Register asking for help.

“Bear has gone missing and collar was taken off him!” the post read.

Police from Taskforce Raven executed a search warrant at a South Launceston address on Thursday.

A 32-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman are expected to face court over the alleged theft, as well as minor drug charges.

Both will be dealt with by summons.
