One Tassie cherry grower is reaping the rewards of a successful harvest – despite being significantly impacted by wet conditions and hail late last year.
Reid Fruits in the Derwent Valley largely escaped the bad weather and now have a large crop of high-quality cherries.

The orchard is currently in full harvest mode, preparing to produce 1500 tonnes of cherries and begin an export to Asia for the Lunar New Year market.
The harvest is being assisted by pickers from around the world, including those from Nepal and Pacific Island nations, who make, on average, $40.25 per hour.
