Close to $35,000 in cash, methamphetamine and a stolen firearm were discovered during a targeted search at a home in Launceston’s south yesterday.
The Northern Drugs and Firearms Unit conducted a search warrant at a property in Summerhill on Thursday, where they uncovered and seized a double-barrel shotgun believed to have been stolen during a burglary in December.
Police also seized nearly $35,000 in cash, 28 grams of the highly addictive drug ice, ammunition and other stolen items.
Two women have been charged in connection with the operation, including a 26-year-old.
She is now facing charges of trafficking in controlled substances, handling property suspected of being proceeds of crime, possession of stolen firearms, and further drug, firearm and property offences.
She was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on April 17.
A 30-year-old woman from Summerhill was also arrested and charged with firearm-related offences and minor drug offences.
She was bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on April 3.
