Tasmania Police have recovered a vehicle that is believed to have been driven into the doors of the Clarence Plains Police Station early this morning.
The incident occurred at around 5:30 am and police have been investigating the matter since.
In a statement, they confirmed that officers have found a white Ford Courier ute in Clarendon Vale, which they suspect was the same vehicle that was used to crash into the police station doors.
Investigations are still ongoing to identify the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Police are now urging anyone who may have CCTV footage of the area or any information that may assist them in identifying the driver to come forward.
The public is being asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information they may have.
Hobart Police station rammed by car overnight
A Hobart Police station has been left ‘extensively damaged’ after an unknown vehicle deliberately rammed into its front doors overnight.
Police say a motor vehicle has been deliberately driven into the front entrance doors of the station at around 5:30AM.
“The front doors to the public enquiry office were extensively damaged,” a spokesperson said.
“No police officers were in the station at the time the incident occurred.”
“The main offices were not entered and nothing was stolen or attempted to be removed.”
Investigations are not underway into the incident, with Police appealing to the public for any information that may lead to identifying those responsible.
