A special Tasmania Police taskforce are on the hunt for 54 repeat offenders across the south of the state.
Four new Hobart officers have joined Taskforce Saturate today in a bid to “deal with as many repeat offenders as possible”.
Inspector John Toohey said the repeat offenders continue to do the wrong thing and will be tracked down.
“54 individuals have been identified and are currently wanted by police for two or more offences committed in Southern Tasmania,” Toohey said.
“The goal of Taskforce Saturate is to target these repeat offenders, and when lawful, put them before the court.”
Taskforce Saturate has already arrested 124 people since July 2023, with over 400 charges laid against them.
The charges include crimes such as aggravated burglary, stealing, assault, breach of bail, firearm offences, drug offences, dangerous driving, evade police and disqualified driving.
Inspector Toohey is urging the public to report any illegal or anti-social behavior to assist with the operation.
