A Tasmania Police car is believed to have been written off after it rolled on the Bass Highway at Round Hill yesterday.

Police say the vehicle hit an embankment on the side of the road and rolled onto its roof shortly after 7pm on Saturday.

“Initial investigations indicate the driver lost control of the vehicle in wet road conditions,” a spokesperson said.

It is understood the vehicle was travelling west towards Burnie when it rolled.

Two police officers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, however no one was injured.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, with the cause currently being investigated.

“This serves as a reminder to drive with extreme care on wet roads, as even highly trained drivers can experience difficulties in challenging conditions,” said Inspector Steve Jones.
