Tasmania will be promoted to travellers in key Asian markets under new agreements with two major online travel platforms, signed during what the state government says is its largest-ever trade delegation.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff has announced the deals with trip.com and Fliggy Travel, an online travel platform owned by the Alibaba Group.
The agreements include Tasmania being featured on both platforms.
According to Rockliff, the state has already reached a large audience through the partnership with Fliggy.

“In three hours, we had exposure to 70 million people through the Alibaba homepage and 538,000 viewers watching the Fliggy livestream,” he said.
“This is a significant result for our State in a very short period of time.”

The Premier said the deals were aimed at bringing in visitors who spend more.
“These partnerships are about putting Tasmania on the global map, reaching more travellers and attracting high-yield visitors who stay longer, spend more and support local businesses right across our state,” he said.
The government said the agreements aim to drive demand for travel to Tasmania and lift visitor numbers during winter and the shoulder season.
“Tourists spend about $3.6 billion in the state each year, and we are delivering on our plan to sustainably grow the industry,” Rockliff said.
