It was the ‘coldest morning of the year’ for most of Tasmania this morning!
The BOM say Launceston woke to a frosty 0.8°C, while Hobart was not much warmer at 2°C and Strahan on the West Coast set a May record – with temperatures dipping to -0.6°C.
“Minimum temperatures this morning were below average by up to 8°C,” a spokesperson said.
The cold snap is expected to ease slightly next week and although ‘not exactly beach weather’, there is ‘lots of sunshine’ to be found across the state today.
