A Tasmanian bird rescuer will make his national television debut on Channel 9’s game show The Floor on Sunday night.
Ziggy Gow-Webb, a 22-year-old from Kettering, filmed his episode back in September but was only recently allowed to reveal his appearance.
His chosen topic on the show was nocturnal animals, with the young rescuer well known in the local community for his work with Raptor Refuge Tasmania, a facility that rescues injured and orphaned birds of prey.
The refuge is located on 20 acres at Kettering and was started in 2001 by his father, Craig.

The Floor is a trivia competition where 81 contestants battle it out in a giant arena for a prize of $200,000.
Hosted by Rodger Corser, the show is returning for its second season after a successful first run and features contestants from all walks of life.

Gow-Webb has been involved with the refuge his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps.
“A 22-year-old with 22 years of experience working with birds of prey at the Raptor Refuge,” he posted ahead of his TV appearance.
He has built a following of more than 4,000 people on Instagram.
Raptor Refuge Tasmania threw its support behind Gow-Webb’s television debut in a post on Wednesday.

“Some of you know @ziggy_raptorrefuge. Some of you have watched him grow up here at raptor refuge,” the refuge posted.
“Well, it turns out our boy has been keeping a very big secret. Ziggy is about to make his game show debut.”
“Get behind our Ziggy this Sunday on Channel 9.”
