Tasmanian-born Queen Mary of Denmark has been struck by a mobility e-scooter during a visit to Greenland’s capital.
The 52-year-old monarch was arriving in Nuuk with her husband King Frederik and children Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent when the incident occurred.
Video posted by Danish media shows Queen Mary standing in a crowded area, surrounded by security, when the scooter suddenly hits her from behind.
She cried out as she fell, before quickly regaining her composure once back on her feet.
The scooter driver, visibly more shaken than the Queen, said he “did not know what happened”.
It is understood the elderly driver meant to extend his arm toward Queen Mary, but hit the accelerator instead.
The Royal House confirmed a minor clash took place but said nobody was injured.
