Jo Harris, an ovarian cancer warrior who fought for respite services for local Tasmanians with cancer, has sadly passed away.

Harris was the inspiration behind the JackJumpers’ partnership with the SHE Foundation, the Club’s official charity partner.

Harris’ fight against ovarian cancer was nothing short of inspirational, and her impact on the lives of Tasmanians with cancer is profound.

She will be remembered for her ‘beautiful smile’, her ‘unwavering courage’, and as a loving wife and mother.

The JackJumpers have expressed their heartfelt condolences to Harris’ husband Scott, children Sam and Luke, and all of her extended family and friends.

The team say they will continue to honor Harris’ fighting spirit, kindness, and selflessness, and keep the Harris family in their hearts and thoughts ‘in everything that they do’ both on and off the court.

The club’s next annual Teal Game supporting S.H.E will be held on February 17, 2024, and will undoubtedly be an incredibly special occasion for the entire Tasmanian community.

Harris’ legacy will live on through S.H.E and her wonderful family, and her fight should never be in vain.

The Tasmania JackJumpers say they will hold a number of initiatives to honor Harris’ life and legacy this week.

The organization encourages everyone in the community to find out more about the signs and symptoms of gynecological cancers and donate at shegynaetas.org.au.
