Nearly $600,000 has been raised for Variety Tasmania with the completion of a new charity house in Kingston.
The project, which showcases the efforts of many Tasmanian businesses, has resulted in the construction of a purpose-built, three-bedroom home designed to accommodate a family with significant disability requirements.
Minister Guy Barnett expressed gratitude for the goodwill displayed by Tasmanians during the construction process, including the 60 subcontractors and suppliers who generously donated their labor, materials, time, and skills to bring the project to life.
The disability-accessible house has been bought by Homes Tasmania for a family in need.
As a charity project, Lyden Builders has pledged to donate the complete profits from the construction to Variety Tasmania, estimated to be around $550,000.
The house was built in memory of Tasmanian woman Madison Lyden, who passed away in a New York bike accident 5 years ago.
