Tasmanian dairy farmers can now apply for grants worth up to $5500 through the Cows out of Creeks program, aimed at improving water quality by removing cattle from waterways.
The grants, which are delivered by DairyTas and funded by the Tasmanian government, will assist farmers in implementing measures such as fencing, stock crossings, off-stream watering and river bank plantings.
DairyTas Regional Manager Laura Richardson emphasized the ongoing commitment to sustainable business growth for farmers and protection of Tasmanian waterways.
Applications for the grants, which is in its ninth round, close on March 30.
