A Tasmanian man has tragically died after becoming trapped beneath a falling tree in the state’s north tonight.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Golden Valley, a small rural area around 40km southwest of Launceston, shortly after 5pm on Thursday.

Police say the 63-year-old man was found “trapped” beneath the tree on a large private bush property and sadly passed away at the scene.
Initial investigations suggest the man was felling tress in the moments before the incident occurred.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
