The new Tasmanian Australian of the Year award recipients have been announced this afternoon! 👏
The overall Tasmanian Australian of the Year winner was 38-year-old Humanitarian and refugee advocate John Kamara, who has been recognised for his work with new Tassie migrants and refugees.

23-year-old Meriem Daoui was announced as Tasmania’s Young Australian of the Year for her humanitarian work, while our Tassie Senior Australian of the Year was Dr Frances Donaldson, and the 2023 Tasmania Local Hero was volunteer ambulance officer Keith Parker.
