A Tasmanian paramedic is set to dive into a charity swim in Hobart this morning in support of people living with Multiple sclerosis (MS).

Anna Chernov will swim a total of 6km in 12 hours at the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre from 10am as part of the 2023 Hobart MS Mega swim.

“I am grateful every day that I am healthy and would be honoured to give my time as a small token to help the vulnerable, marginalised members we live alongside,” Chernov said.

“Working in frontline healthcare allows us to live a life of purpose which affords us the luxury of having a meaningful career.”

Close to $30,000 has already been raised by the more than 60 swimmers taking part in the Saturday swim, including teams the Tomatoes Swim Club raised, Huon Valley Aquatic, John Street Humuhumunukunukuapuaʻa and Kingston Beach Barnacles.
