A Tasmanian photographer has won a major national environmental award worth over $10,000 for his photography of Platypus in the Hobart Rivulet.

The winning project, ‘Hobart Rivulet Platypus,’ highlights the challenges the creatures face, including pollution and food scarcity.

Walsh is dedicated to both protecting and raising awareness of platypuses in the city’s waterways.

He will further this mission with his upcoming project, ‘Becoming Platypus,’ which will focus on two adult females and their offspring in Hobart waters.
