Devonport’s own Prema Smith, the owner of Prem’s Seafood Bar and Grill, is set to spread some festive cheer this Christmas Eve.

Understanding the difficulties that the holiday season can bring, including financial strain and loneliness, Smith says he has decided to give back to the community in a unique way.

From 5pm onwards this Christmas Eve, locals will find Smith outside his restaurant, located at the intersection of Rooke and Oldaker Street, generously offering free fish & chips and prawns to anyone in need of a warm meal or a bit of holiday spirit.

As a father of three, Smith says he is driven by ‘a sense of gratitude and a desire’ to contribute positively to his community.
