A 17-year-old has been charged after allegedly stabbing a doctor and assaulting two others in Tasmania’s North-West yesterday.
The youth was charged with wounding, two counts of assault and threatening police after the incident at the North West Regional Hospital on Sunday.
The doctor was airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A youth is in custody after ‘seriously wounding’ a medical professional at a Tasmanian hospital today.
Police say officers were called to the North West Regional Hospital in Cooee around 4.30pm, with the victim being flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition.
The youth has been arrested and officers remain at the scene as investigations continue.
“The incident was isolated and there is no threat to the wider community,” Police say.
Officers remain at the scene conducting investigations.
