An umpire has shut down a game of regional Tasmanian football after allegedly abusing a player this afternoon.
The match between Oatlands and Triabunna was called off during the 3rd quarter following ‘excessive abuse from an umpire towards a player’.

The Oatlands district football association say the behaviour of the umpire was inappropriate and respect ‘must be given both ways’.
“The O.D.F.A. has always strongly condemned abuse towards umpires, but it must be a two way street,” the association wrote.
“As the match was beyond half time, it is considered official. The score and goalkicking will count as normal.”
It is not known what lead up to the alleged altercation.
