A Tasmanian woman who was caught by Police twice in one night, first for speeding and then for drink driving, has been disqualified for two years.
The 46-year-old woman from Liffey was stopped on Bass Highway around 6:20pm on Wednesday after speeding past officers at 131km/h in a 110km/h zone.
Inspector Michael Johnston from Central North Division said police then stopped the same woman “a short time later” on Oaks Road at Bracknell where she returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.184.
“At the time, the woman had a child with her in the vehicle,” Johnston said.
She was charged with speeding and drink driving and was immediately disqualified from driving for two years.
“Driving under the influence and speeding are fatal five offences and not only risk the lives of those in the vehicle, but all road users,” said Inspector Johnston.
