The search is on for Tasmania’s best local offerings to feature at this year’s Taste of Summer festival.
Festival Curator Jo Cook said she is casting the net wide to find the state’s top makers, producers, artisans, musicians and performers.
“The Taste is about supporting Tasmanian producers, Tasmanian performing artists and Tasmanian businesses and providing a platform for them to connect with the tens of thousands of tourists and locals who flock through our gates each year,” she said.
“As we have demonstrated over the past three festivals, we are passionate about this state and promoting our island’s creativity and innovation.”
Cook said around 80 food and drink providers are being sought, with a focus on businesses offering products made from primarily Tasmanian ingredients with a focus on seasonality.
All artists and performers participating in the festival must also be based locally or have a strong connection to the state.
“If you have a great product or concept, we can work with you to tailor it and showcase what you do,” she said.
“Last year we had a fantastic mix of new and established businesses across our food and drink offering and well-known and emerging artists across our main stage line-up.”
This year’s Taste of Summer festival will run from December 28 to January 4.
