Tasracing has successfully enforced bans on several harness racing figures from entering its racetracks, after initial restrictions were overturned by the Tasmanian Racing Appeals Board.
Ben Yole, Tim Yole, Nathan Ford and Mitchell Ford have received renewed warning-off notices after Tasracing’s successful appeal in the Supreme Court.
The ban stemmed from negative findings made in the Ray Murrihy Report, which uncovered issues including mistreatment of horses and improper team driving in harness races.
The court ruling has allowed Tasracing to enforce the bans again and ordered the men to pay legal costs.
Yole has been granted a two-week window to lodge another appeal against the decision.
Tasracing CEO Andrew Jenkins said the organisation is considering next steps to uphold integrity in the harness racing industry.
