14-year-old Charlie, a talented drummer from Kingston, has been showered with support from the Tasmanian music community after they heard about a recent complaint made against him by a neighbor.
The anonymous letter, sent to Charlie’s parents, accused the teenager of creating “intrusive and offensively loud” noise and demanded they invest in soundproofing for their drumming shed.
But the local music community was quick to show their support. Tasmanian band Luca Brasi, lead by Tyler Richardson and Danny Flood, visited Charlie at his home and had a drumming session with him, gifting him with some of Danny’s signature drum sticks.
“He actually kills it on the kit,” said the band.

But the support didn’t stop there.
Local country/rock band, The Wolfe Brothers, also offered Charlie free tickets to their upcoming Hobart show, complete with backstage access for Charlie to sit with their drummer.
Hobart music supplies store, Modern Musician, also stepped up and offered to give Charlie a gift pack, showing their support for young musicians starting out.

The outpouring of support from the local music community has boosted Charlie’s confidence in his drumming abilities and serves as a reminder of the kindness and generosity that exists within the Tasmanian music scene.
With the support of local musicians and the community, Charlie’s passion for drumming will continue to thrive.
