A Tassie family were ‘very lucky’ to escape their home after it became engulfed in flames overnight
Emergency services responded to the incident in Lebrina, north-east of Launceston, shortly before 6:30pm yesterday – where they found the house ‘extensively damaged’.
Fire investigators say the cause was accidental, however it started in an area of the home that ‘wasn’t directly covered by a smoke alarm’.
The damage is estimated to be around $300,000.
