A Tassie gardener has had her garden ripped up by a Government drug squad after she ‘accidentally’ grew poppies which were restricted in Tasmania.
Kate Dixon, who runs a flower business near Hobart, received a surprise call from the Tasmanian Government after she posted photos of the plants online, telling the ABC she had ‘absolutely no idea’ a license was required to grow the poppies.

After testing the flowers destined for wedding bouquets, Environment officers pulled 50 of the prohibited opium and persian plants from her flower farm that, in the wrong hands, can be used to produce drugs like heroin and morphine.
