A man has been left with serious injuries after a motorcycle crash south of Hobart last night.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash involving a 37-year-old man on Sandfly Road in Margate at around 8:00PM on Wednesday night.
According to initial reports, the rider was travelling along Sandfly Road when he failed to negotiate a turn, causing the motorcycle to become airborne and land in a ditch.
The man was quickly transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious condition.

Inspector Jim Semmens of Southern District Support Services says investigations into the crash are ongoing, but that police believe excessive speed may have been a contributing factor.
He urged all motorists to exercise caution while on the road and to keep in mind the “fatal five” risks: speeding, seatbelt use, drunk and drugged driving, inattention, and fatigue.
Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crimestoppers online at www.crimestopperstas.com.au.
