The charity collects and redistributes new and pre-loved essentials including clothing, nappies, cots, prams and school supplies, supporting children and families experiencing hardship through a statewide network of frontline organisations.

In recent years, it has helped families affected by domestic violence, homelessness, natural disasters and cost-of-living pressures.

MyState chief executive Brett Morgan said the strong public backing for the award reflected Tasmania’s community spirit.

More than 16,400 public votes were cast across Tasmania for the one-off award

“Congratulations to Tassie Mums – Clair Harris, Madeleine Glover and the team do wonderful work creating meaningful opportunities for vulnerable young people, and we’re proud to support their continued impact,” Morgan said.

“This award was about giving Tasmanians a direct say in where this milestone investment goes, and the response has been outstanding.”

Tassie Mums chief executive and founder Clair Harris said the recognition reflected widespread community care across Tasmania.

The award marked the MyState Foundation’s 25-year anniversary milestone

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Tasmanian community for this support. Every vote represents someone who believes that all children deserve comfort and the basics that many of us take for granted,” Harris said.

“This funding will help us reach more children, faster, with everyday essential items, delivering not just practical support, but comfort where and when it’s needed most.”
