A 17-year-old driver from Wynyard is facing serious consequences after being caught speeding at a ‘reckless’ 126km/h in a 60km/h zone on the Old Bass Highway.
Police detected the young driver on Wednesday 21 December, and upon further investigation, the vehicle was clamped for a period of 28 days and the driver was slapped with a $1000 fine.

Police will be stepping up their presence on the roads and targeting the “fatal five” offences this summer, and are urging people not to risk their safety and the safety of others – drive responsibly and within the speed limit.
