Police are working to identify ‘a number of youths’ after they allegedly assaulted a man who was attempting to stop them shoplifting in New Town earlier today.
Tasmania Police have commended the member of the public for his assistance, but would also caution business owners and the general public when deciding to intervene in such matters.
While one alleged offender has already been apprehended, anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t spoken to police is asked to contact them on 131 444.
